Why should you give thanks when the very things you longed for and earnestly prayed for did not come through, not even a shadow showed up?
For the first part,
It is because God’s plans and ways are mighty higher than yours; higher than you can see or imagine, at least not at those times when your eyes are so up and your heart consumed by the seeming needs. Higher and good enough to shield you from all ills in health’s clothing; higher and good enough to set timings according to the what is written of you in His book for He knows and sees the end of all things right from the very start. God indeed is good! For his eyes are far reaching.
Even when you are sure it’s the devil and his cohorts’ scheme that has caused you that outcome, still maintain the attitude of giving thanks first because you see, nothing is beyond God, He knows. Thank God because He is the final authority of your life, bring him to the remembrance of His words and then, break through!
Psalm 139.16 Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book, they all were written, The days fashioned for me, When as yet there were none of them.
You should give thanks still also because it is His will that you give thanks. Simply put, giving thanks is what the one who has your times and seasons in His hands will have you do irrespective. .
To the captain of my life, I Give Thanks!
…thank God no matter what happens. This is the way God wants you who belong to Christ Jesus to live. 1 Thess 5.18 MSG .
